Email Marketing: Your Domain. Your Leads. Your Campaign.

Verify your own sending domain, build branded email templates, and send campaigns to Lead Hub contacts who have specifically consented to email marketing — with delivery, open, and click analytics built in.

Send From Your Brand, Not Ours

SMLLR's Email Marketing (Pro plan and above) sends campaigns from your own domain — recipients see your brand's address, never SMLLR's. Connect a dedicated sending subdomain (e.g. mail.yourbrand.com, kept separate from your main domain to isolate deliverability reputation), and SMLLR generates a DKIM (TXT) and CNAME record for you to add at your DNS provider — with the provider auto-detected and tailored setup guidance shown alongside the records. A DMARC record is also offered as a recommended, not required, third addition, starting at a safe monitor-only policy so it never risks blocking legitimate mail. Once verification passes, the Templates, Send Campaign, and Analytics tabs unlock. Changing your sender name or address applies immediately; changing the domain itself re-issues new records and locks sending again until you re-verify.

Build Once, Personalize Per Recipient

The Templates tab includes a rich text editor with CTA button blocks and a gallery of starter templates to build from rather than a blank page. Templates support two merge variables today — {{name}} and {{email}} — the two fields Lead Hub reliably has for every captured lead. A template cannot be saved referencing a variable without a fallback value defined for it, which is what stops a blank {{name}} ever reaching a real inbox as "Hi ,". The number of templates you can save at once is capped by your plan, shown directly in the Templates tab.

Only Consented Leads Are Ever Reachable

The Send Campaign tab pulls its audience directly from Lead Hub, filtered to only the leads with an active email-marketing consent grant — shown up front as "X of Y leads consented" before you select recipients, with a select-all-consented shortcut. Consent for WhatsApp or ad targeting is a separate grant entirely and never expands who a campaign can reach.

Delivery, Open, and Click Tracking — Self-Hosted

Every campaign reports a cumulative funnel — Sent → Delivered → Opened → Clicked, each a subset of the one before — with Bounced and Failed tracked as their own distinct terminal outcomes rather than folded into the funnel. Delivered/bounced status comes from polling your email service provider's logs; open and click tracking is self-hosted (an invisible tracking pixel and a click-redirect wrapper around every link), so it works without depending on a per-account toggle inside a third-party provider's dashboard. The Analytics tab shows account-wide totals plus a per-campaign comparison table and chart.

Unsubscribe and Suppression, Built In

Every campaign email carries a mandatory one-click unsubscribe link. A click adds that contact to your account's suppression list, which is checked automatically before every future send — a suppressed lead is never emailed again by mistake. Links inside a template are also automatically corrected to a full https:// address if someone types a bare domain while writing it, so a broken link never goes out because of a small formatting slip.

Sending Uses Your Credit Wallet

Every send draws from your account's credit wallet — 1 credit covers up to 50 email sends per campaign. Pro includes 100 credits/month, Premium includes 300, and top-up packs are available anytime and never expire. The same wallet also powers Meta Sync today, and will power WhatsApp Marketing once it ships.

How to Verify Your Sending Domain for Email Marketing

  1. 1

    Add a dedicated sending subdomain

Enter a subdomain of your own domain (e.g. mail.yourbrand.com) in the Email Marketing setup tab, kept separate from your main domain to isolate deliverability reputation.

  2. 2

Add the DKIM and CNAME records at your DNS provider

SMLLR generates a DKIM (TXT) record and a CNAME record for you, with your DNS provider auto-detected and tailored setup guidance shown alongside them.

  3. 3

Optionally add the recommended DMARC record

A DMARC record is offered as a recommended, not required, third addition, starting at a safe monitor-only policy so it never risks blocking legitimate mail.

  4. 4

    Wait for verification

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate, though it's often faster. Once verification passes, the Templates, Send Campaign, and Analytics tabs unlock.

Frequently Asked Questions

What plan do I need for Email Marketing?

Email Marketing requires a Pro plan or above.

Do I need my own domain to send campaigns?

Yes. You connect and verify your own sending domain (or a dedicated subdomain of it) via DKIM and CNAME DNS records before the Templates, Send Campaign, and Analytics tabs unlock.

Why does SMLLR recommend a subdomain instead of my main domain?

A dedicated sending subdomain (e.g. mail.yourbrand.com) isolates your marketing-sending reputation from your primary business domain, so a deliverability issue on one never affects the other.

How long does domain verification take?

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate before verification succeeds, though it is often much faster depending on your DNS provider.

Which merge fields can I use in a template?

Only {{name}} and {{email}} are supported today — the two fields Lead Hub reliably has for every lead. A template can't be saved using a variable without a fallback value set for it, which prevents a blank value ever reaching a real recipient.

Who actually receives a campaign when I click send?

Only leads from your Lead Hub with an active email-marketing consent grant. The Send Campaign tab shows exactly how many of your total leads currently qualify before you choose recipients.

What happens if a recipient unsubscribes?

They're added to your account's suppression list automatically, which is checked before every future send — they will not receive another campaign email unless they re-consent.

Can I see how many people opened or clicked a campaign?

Yes. The Analytics tab shows a full funnel — sent, delivered, opened, clicked — plus bounced and failed counts, both account-wide and broken down per campaign.

Is there a limit on how many templates I can save?

Yes, a plan-based cap — the current limit and how many you've used are both shown in the Templates tab.

Do email sends cost anything beyond my subscription?

Sends draw from your monthly credit allowance (100/month on Pro, 300/month on Premium) — 1 credit covers up to 50 emails per campaign. If you run out, top-up packs are available anytime and never expire. See Credits for details.
