Setting Up Tracking Pixels — Step-by-Step
How to find each platform's ID, set your account-wide defaults, and optionally override them for a specific QR code.
Step 1 — Find Your IDs on Each Ad Platform
You don't need all four. Fill in only the platforms you actually advertise on — SMLLR only injects a script for a platform once an ID is set.
Meta Pixel ID — Go to Meta Events Manager → Data Sources → select your Pixel. The numeric ID is shown at the top (e.g.
123456789012345).Google Ads Conversion ID — In Google Ads, go to Tools & Settings → Measurement → Conversions → your conversion action → Tag Setup. The ID looks like
AW-123456789.GA4 Measurement ID — In Google Analytics, go to Admin → Data Streams → select your web stream. The Measurement ID looks like
G-XXXXXXXXXX.LinkedIn Partner ID — In LinkedIn Campaign Manager, go to Account Assets → Insight Tag. Your Partner ID is the numeric value shown in the tag snippet.
Step 2 — Set Your Account Defaults
Open Settings
In your SMLLR dashboard, click Settings in the left sidebar.
Go to the Tracking Pixels tab
Click the Tracking Pixels tab at the top of the Settings page.
Enter your IDs
Paste in the Meta Pixel ID, Google Ads Conversion ID, GA4 Measurement ID, and/or LinkedIn Partner ID you collected in Step 1.
Save Defaults
Click Save Defaults. These IDs now apply to every QR code in your account by default.
Step 3 — Override for a Specific QR Code (Optional)
To remove an override and go back to inheriting the account default, clear the field (or click "Clear all overrides") and save again.
Open the QR code
Go to QR Codes, then create a new QR code or open an existing one in Edit mode.
Go to Step 3 — Configure
In the QR wizard, scroll to the Tracking Pixels section, alongside the other redirect rules.
Fill in only what you want to override
Any field you leave blank keeps inheriting your account default — shown as a placeholder, e.g. "Inheriting org default: 123456789". Any field you fill in becomes a dedicated override for this QR code only.
Save the QR code
Click Save. The override is stored on this QR code and will keep applying even if you later change the account default.
Verifying Your Pixels Are Firing
Meta — install the Meta Pixel Helper browser extension, scan the QR code, and confirm it reports a
PageViewevent with the expected Pixel ID.Google Ads / GA4 — install Google Tag Assistant, scan the QR code, and confirm a single
gtag.jsload with aconfigcall for each ID you set.LinkedIn — install the LinkedIn Insight Tag Helper extension, scan the QR code, and confirm the Partner ID matches what you configured.
