Building an Email Template

Using the rich text editor, starter templates, and merge fields — and why a template can be blocked from saving.

Starting a Template

From the Templates tab, click to create a new template. You can start from a blank template or pick one from the built-in starter gallery, then customize it in the rich text editor — which supports standard formatting plus CTA button blocks.

Merge Fields: {{name}} and {{email}}

Only two merge variables are supported: {{name}} and {{email}} — the two fields Lead Hub reliably has for every captured lead. Type them directly into your subject line or body, and they're replaced per-recipient when the campaign sends.

A template cannot be saved if it uses a merge variable without a fallback value defined for it. This is deliberate — it's what stops a lead with no name on file from ever receiving "Hi ," with a blank space where their name should be. Set a fallback (e.g. "there") for every variable you use.

How Many Templates Can I Save?

The number of templates you can save at once is capped by your plan. Your current limit and usage are shown directly at the top of the Templates tab.
