Analytics Not Showing Scans
What to do if your scan data is missing, delayed, or not appearing in your analytics dashboard.
Analytics Delay
Scan analytics in SMLLR are typically available within a few minutes of a scan occurring. If you just scanned a QR code and the count has not updated yet, wait 5 minutes and refresh the page.
Very high-volume QR codes (thousands of scans per hour) may have a slightly longer lag time of up to 15 minutes during peak periods.
Analytics Show Zero Scans But QR Is Redirecting
If the QR code redirects correctly but shows 0 scans in your dashboard:
Wait 5–10 minutes and refresh. Analytics are not real-time — they have a short processing delay.
Check if you are viewing the correct date range in the analytics filter. If you scanned today but the filter is set to 'Last 30 days ending yesterday', today's scan won't show.
Check if the bot filter is on and your test scans were flagged as bots. Go to Reporting and toggle off 'Exclude Bot Scans' to see all data including flagged scans.
Make sure you are looking at the correct QR code's analytics. If you have many QR codes, confirm the one you are viewing is the one you scanned.
Location Showing Incorrectly
If your analytics show an unexpected location (e.g. a Mumbai scan shows as Delhi):
- VPN — if the device was using a VPN, it will appear in the VPN server's location
- ISP-based location — the IP address may be registered to an ISP hub city, not the device's physical city
- This is a normal limitation of IP-based geo-location and is not a bug
Old Analytics Data Not Visible
Analytics data retention depends on your plan. If you are on the Free plan, only the last 30 days of data are shown. Older data is not deleted — it is just hidden. If you upgrade to a paid plan, older data becomes visible again.
