What Is Meta Sync?
How Meta Sync turns consented Lead Hub contacts into a Meta Custom Audience, and what's included.
Overview
Meta Sync (Pro plan and above) keeps a Meta Custom Audience — inside your own Meta Ads account, not SMLLR's — in sync with the leads in your Lead Hub who've specifically consented to ad targeting. Access it from your dashboard sidebar under Marketing → Meta Sync.
The Three Tabs
Audience and Sync History stay locked until Setup shows your ad account as Connected.
| Tab | What It's For | Unlocks When |
|---|---|---|
Setup | Connect your Meta Ad Account | Always available |
Audience | See who's eligible, pending, and run a sync | After your ad account is connected |
Sync History | See the added/removed count and credit cost of every past sync | After your ad account is connected |
Retargeting and Lookalike Audiences
A synced Custom Audience unlocks two things in Meta Ads Manager: retargeting the exact people who scanned (a warm audience that already showed intent), and building a Lookalike Audience from that same audience as a seed, which finds new people on Facebook and Instagram who resemble your real customers. Lookalike creation itself happens in Meta Ads Manager, not inside SMLLR — Meta Sync's job is keeping the seed audience accurate and current.
Syncing Uses Your Credit Wallet
Every sync draws from your account's credit wallet — 1 credit covers 20 contacts touched (added or removed both count) in that sync. A sync where nothing changed since last time costs nothing. Pro includes 100 credits/month, Premium includes 300, and top-up packs are available anytime and never expire. See Marketing → Credits in your dashboard for your live balance and statement.
