Understanding Your Usage and Limits
How to check your current usage, understand what happens when you approach limits, and how to expand capacity.
How to View Your Current Usage
Go to Subscription
Click Subscription in the left sidebar.
View Usage Summary
The Subscription page shows a usage summary with progress bars for:
- QR codes used vs plan limit
- Campaigns created vs plan limit
- Landing pages created vs plan limit (if on Premium)
- Team member seats used vs available
- Scan analytics data retained (days)
Check your credit balance
Pro and Premium accounts also have a Credits page (Marketing → Credits) showing your monthly allowance, top-up balance, and a full statement of every credit, debit, and refund. See Credits for details.
What Happens When You Approach a Limit?
When you are within 20% of a limit, SMLLR shows a warning banner at the top of your dashboard and on the relevant section page.
When you reach 100% of a limit:
- You cannot create more items of that type until you upgrade or delete existing ones
- Existing QR codes continue to work normally
- Paused or active QR codes both count towards your limit
You can free up QR code slots by deleting old, unused QR codes. Paused QR codes still count towards your limit — only deleted QR codes do not.
How to Expand Your Capacity
To increase your limits:
1. Upgrade your plan — the most straightforward option (see the Upgrading Your Plan article)
2. Delete unused QR codes — if you have QR codes you no longer use, deleting them frees up slots
3. Contact support for custom limits — if the Premium plan's limits still aren't enough for your volume, contact SMLLR support to discuss custom limits
Credit balance works a little differently — instead of upgrading or deleting anything, you can buy a top-up pack anytime from the Credits page. Unlike your monthly allowance, top-up credits never expire.
