Device & OS Breakdown

Understand which devices and operating systems your audience is using, and why this matters for your QR code destinations.

What Device Analytics Shows You

The Device & OS Breakdown section of your analytics tells you:
- What percentage of your scanners use iPhone (iOS) vs Android
- Which specific iOS or Android versions are in use
- Which browsers your scanners are using
- Whether any scans came from tablets or desktop computers

Why This Matters

  • App download campaigns — if 80% of your audience uses Android, prioritise the Play Store link and make sure your app is well-optimised for Android

  • Landing page design — know which screen sizes and browsers to prioritise when designing a landing page or web page for QR traffic

  • Device redirects — use Device Redirect rules to send iOS and Android users to platform-specific destinations (see Redirect Rules section)

  • Audience profiling — iOS users and Android users often have different demographic and income profiles; this data can inform your marketing strategy

Reading the Device Chart

In the Reporting dashboard, scroll to the Device Breakdown section. You will see:
- A pie chart showing iOS vs Android vs Desktop/Other as percentages
- A list view showing each OS and browser with scan counts and percentages
- Version details — expand each OS to see which specific version (e.g. iOS 17, Android 13) your users are on
