Deep Link
Create a QR code that opens a specific screen inside a mobile app using a deep link URL.
What is It?
A Deep Link is a special URL that opens a specific page or screen inside a mobile app — not just the app's home screen. For example, a deep link can open the checkout screen of a shopping app, or a specific product listing in a marketplace app.
The Deep Link CTA lets you embed such a URL in a QR code. If the app is installed, the user is taken directly to the specified screen. If the app is not installed, the user can be redirected to a fallback URL (typically the app's website or app store listing).
When to Use It
Retail QR codes linked to a specific product in your shopping app
Restaurant QR codes opening a specific menu category in your ordering app
Bank or fintech QR codes opening a specific feature in the mobile banking app
Referral campaigns opening the referral reward screen in an app
Event apps opening the session schedule for a specific track
How to Set It Up
Select 'Deep Link'
Choose Deep Link from the CTA type list.
Enter the deep link URL
Paste the deep link URL for your app. Deep link formats vary by app and platform — check your app's documentation. Examples: myapp://product/12345 or https://app.mystore.com/p/12345
Enter a fallback URL
Enter a fallback URL for users who do not have the app installed. This is typically your app store listing or website.
Save and test
Test on a phone with the app installed (to verify the deep link) and on a phone without the app (to verify the fallback).
Advanced: iOS vs Android Deep Links
iOS and Android use different deep link formats. iOS uses Universal Links (HTTPS URLs) or URL Schemes (myapp://path). Android uses App Links (HTTPS URLs) or Custom Schemes. If you need platform-specific deep links, combine this with a Device Redirect rule: set the iOS deep link as the iOS redirect and the Android deep link as the Android redirect. See the Redirect Rules section for details.
