QR Code CTA Types

PDF Viewer / Document

Create a QR code that opens a PDF document — menus, brochures, catalogues, user manuals, and more.

What is It?

The PDF Viewer CTA creates a QR code that, when scanned, opens a PDF document in the scanner's browser or PDF viewer. You upload the PDF to SMLLR and we host it for you — no need to host it on your own server.

When to Use It

  • Digital menus for restaurants (update anytime without reprinting QR codes)

  • Product catalogues and brochures

  • Equipment user manuals on product packaging

  • Reports, presentations, or whitepapers

  • Event schedules and programmes

How to Set It Up

1

Select 'PDF Viewer'

Choose PDF Viewer / Document from the CTA type list.

2

Upload your PDF

Click Upload PDF and select your PDF file from your device. Maximum file size: 10 MB. SMLLR hosts the file for you.

3

Or enter a PDF URL

Alternatively, if your PDF is already hosted online, paste the direct URL to the PDF file.

4

Save and test

Save and scan to verify the PDF opens and displays correctly on mobile.

Updating the PDF Later

Since SMLLR QR codes are dynamic, you can upload a new PDF at any time (e.g. when your menu changes for a new season). The QR code on your printed materials automatically shows the new document — no reprinting needed.
