SMS / Text Message
Create a QR code that opens a new SMS message on the scanner's phone, pre-filled with your number and optional message text.
What is It?
The SMS CTA opens the native messaging app on the scanner's phone with your phone number pre-filled in the recipient field. You can also pre-fill the message body text so the customer just needs to tap Send.
When to Use It
SMS opt-in campaigns ('Text YES to subscribe')
Appointment booking confirmations
Feedback or review collection via SMS
Businesses in areas with limited internet where SMS is more reliable
How to Set It Up
Select 'SMS'
Choose SMS from the CTA type list.
Enter the phone number
Enter the mobile number that will receive the SMS, in international format (e.g. +919876543210 or 919876543210).
Add a pre-filled message (optional)
Type the default message text in the Message field. The customer can edit this before sending.
Save and test
Save and scan the QR on a phone to verify the SMS compose screen opens correctly.
Important Note
SMS requires the scanner to have mobile carrier service. It will not work in areas without cellular signal or if the phone's messaging app is not set up.
