QR Code CTA Types

Website / URL

Create a QR code that takes the scanner to any webpage — the most common and versatile QR type.

What is It?

The Website / URL CTA is the most fundamental QR code type. When someone scans it, they are instantly redirected to any web address (URL) you specify. This could be your homepage, a specific product page, a landing page, a blog article, a Google Form, a Calendly booking page — anything accessible via a web browser.

When to Use It

  • Directing customers to your website or product pages

  • Linking to a digital menu

  • Sharing a specific promotion or landing page

  • Linking to a Google Form or survey

  • Any situation where you want to send someone to a webpage

How to Set It Up

1

Select 'Website / URL' as the CTA type

In the QR creation wizard, choose Website / URL from the CTA type list.

2

Enter the URL

Paste or type the full URL including https:// (e.g. https://www.yourbusiness.com/offers). Leaving out https:// may cause issues on some devices.

3

Save and download

Click Save and then download your QR code in your preferred format.

Pro Tips

  • Use URL shorteners or UTM parameters in the destination URL to track marketing campaigns in Google Analytics alongside SMLLR analytics

  • Test the URL in a browser first to make sure it works and loads quickly on mobile

  • Since SMLLR is dynamic, you can change the URL at any time without reprinting the QR code
