Website / URL
Create a QR code that takes the scanner to any webpage — the most common and versatile QR type.
What is It?
The Website / URL CTA is the most fundamental QR code type. When someone scans it, they are instantly redirected to any web address (URL) you specify. This could be your homepage, a specific product page, a landing page, a blog article, a Google Form, a Calendly booking page — anything accessible via a web browser.
When to Use It
Directing customers to your website or product pages
Linking to a digital menu
Sharing a specific promotion or landing page
Linking to a Google Form or survey
Any situation where you want to send someone to a webpage
How to Set It Up
Select 'Website / URL' as the CTA type
In the QR creation wizard, choose Website / URL from the CTA type list.
Enter the URL
Paste or type the full URL including https:// (e.g. https://www.yourbusiness.com/offers). Leaving out https:// may cause issues on some devices.
Save and download
Click Save and then download your QR code in your preferred format.
Pro Tips
Use URL shorteners or UTM parameters in the destination URL to track marketing campaigns in Google Analytics alongside SMLLR analytics
Test the URL in a browser first to make sure it works and loads quickly on mobile
Since SMLLR is dynamic, you can change the URL at any time without reprinting the QR code
