QR Code CTA Types

UPI Payment

Create a QR code that opens a UPI payment screen on the scanner's phone — ideal for accepting payments in India.

What is It?

The UPI Payment CTA creates a QR code that, when scanned on any Android or iOS phone in India, opens the UPI payment flow. The scanner can choose any UPI app (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, etc.) and complete the payment to your UPI ID.

You can optionally pre-fill the amount and a payment description/note.

When to Use It

  • Table QR codes at restaurants for bill payment

  • Retail counters for quick payment acceptance

  • Donation or charity collection

  • Freelancers and service providers accepting payments

  • Events for ticket payment or donations

How to Set It Up

1

Select 'UPI Payment'

Choose UPI Payment from the CTA type list.

2

Enter your UPI ID

Type your UPI Virtual Payment Address (VPA) — the ID linked to your bank account. Format: username@bankname (e.g. yourbusiness@okicici or 9876543210@ybl).

3

Enter merchant name (optional)

Enter the business or payee name as you want it to appear in the UPI app.

4

Set a fixed amount (optional)

If you want to collect a specific amount, enter it in the Amount field. Leave blank to allow the payer to enter any amount.

5

Add a payment note (optional)

Enter a description that appears in the payer's transaction history (e.g. 'Table 5 Dinner' or 'Event Ticket').

6

Save and test

Save and scan with a UPI-enabled phone to verify the payment screen opens with correct details.

Important Notes

SMLLR does not process or hold payments. The QR code only initiates the UPI flow — the payment happens directly through the UPI apps between the payer and your bank. Always reconcile payments in your bank statement or UPI app dashboard.
