Create a QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with your phone number, with an optional pre-written message.
What is It?
The WhatsApp CTA creates a QR code that, when scanned, opens WhatsApp on the scanner's phone and pre-fills a chat with your specified phone number. You can optionally include a pre-written message so the customer only needs to press Send.
When to Use It
Restaurants allowing customers to message for reservations or orders
Retail shops giving customers a quick way to ask about products
Service businesses (salons, repair shops) for appointment enquiries
Support teams offering WhatsApp as a contact channel
Real estate agents giving prospects a one-scan way to reach them
How to Set It Up
Select 'WhatsApp'
In the QR creation wizard, choose WhatsApp from the CTA type list.
Enter the phone number
Enter your WhatsApp-linked phone number in international format, including the country code but without the + symbol or dashes. For India: 91 followed by your 10-digit number (e.g. 919876543210).
Add a pre-filled message (optional)
In the Pre-filled Message field, type the message you want to appear in the chat box when the customer opens it. Example: 'Hi, I scanned your QR code and would like to know more about your services.'
Save
Click Save. Test the QR code on your phone to confirm WhatsApp opens correctly.
Pro Tips
Keep the pre-filled message short and natural so it feels like something the customer would actually say
Make sure your WhatsApp account is active on the number you enter
WhatsApp Business accounts work exactly the same as personal accounts for this CTA
